So why do we call them practice engines? Development
of top Jett's FAI "practice"
engine is the latest evolution of the Jett FIRE FAI engine from
performing FAI F3D racing engines is an endless endevor, requiring
hundreds of hours of R&D time and testing. It is clear who the state-of-the-art
leaders are in this type of engine design and development these days. If
you are seeking to compete and win, we recommend at this time
you lookat MB and Nelson. Both fine products. Please understand that the MB or the
Nelson engines are faster than mine. My engine is used normally where
cost is important and the flyer is more interested in practice, or is a beginner.
For these reasons, Jett
sells the FAI-40 at a reasonable price, and even offers
them with an optional carb (throttles) for the beginner !!!

a few years ago, based on our championship QM40 engine. Well built, easy
to operate, and it runs great on the APC QM40 carbon props, turning
around 25,000 rpm. This engine is happy running on fuel ranging from FAI 0%
nitro to standard 15% sport fuel.
The FAI engines can be provided
with an optional Nelson Pipe,
The Dechastel Pipe, or a cheaper Jett practice pipe.
